Building a high-performance, AI-powered scanning platform that powers Vide’s “Scan & Play” video experience at events.

Introduction

Vide approached Emyoli with a critical mission: develop a fully proprietary, high-quality “Scan & Play” video engine that could replace their expensive and limiting third-party provider. The new solution had to meet the same performance levels as a platform built over years by a large development team — all within a significantly shorter timeframe.

Description

Vide’s core business relies on fast, accurate, and reliable QR-based scanning at events such as weddings and parties. Guests scan personalized tags and instantly receive a curated video experience. Emyoli was tasked with architecting a complete, high-performance scanning system that would work seamlessly in real-world event conditions, without depending on external vendors.

Technical Challenges

The biggest challenge was achieving exceptional scan quality and speed in unpredictable environments like wedding halls. Poor lighting, weak internet connectivity, and constant motion all impact performance. Our team needed to ensure real-time accuracy, minimal latency, and flawless detection — otherwise users abandon the system and request refunds. Building such a system from scratch, in months rather than years, required deep expertise in AI, computer vision, and performance engineering.

Technology Stack

The solution combines AI-powered image processing, optimized computer vision algorithms, real-time quality enhancement, cloud-based performance pipelines, and a robust backend built for scale. A custom tuning layer ensures reliable scanning in low light and noisy environments. The stack was designed to be modular, fast, and fully owned by Vide — eliminating all vendor dependency.
